Sterling Silver Ribbon Twist Ring
During this workshop you will make one Ribbon Twist ring, either the partial twist or the full twist.
Suitable for complete beginners with help on hand if needed! A Ribbon Twist Torque bangle is also available as a workshop if you would like to add to your collection.
Approximate time: 3-4 hours
After a health and safety discussion, you will be introduced to the tools to be used and receive a demonstration on the various methods of silversmithing
You will learn:
To cut a length of silver with a piercing saw
How to anneal the silver with a gas torch, ready to create the twist, before making the silver into a ring shape and sizing it to your finger
File the ends and edges of the silver
How to solder the join to create a continuous round ring shape
Polish your ring to a mirror finish ready to wear with pride!
